Or working with someone who has?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Marketing &#038; PR Clinic on Bloglovin\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bloglovin.com\/en\/blog\/3266995\/marketing-amp-pr-clinic\/follow\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"bloglovin\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bloglovin.com\/widget\/bilder\/en\/widget.gif\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-84\" title=\"IMAGE OPPORTUNITY\" src=\"http:\/\/marketingandprclinic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMAGE-OPPORTUNITY.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" \/>I have been meeting some fascinating people, mainly in Devon, many of whom are tempted to take the big step and set up a new business. \u00a0I have started to develop \u00a0a quick way of telling whether I think they are up for the challenge, which helps me decide if I should be working with them. \u00a0My mental checklist is as follows:<\/p>\n<p>1)<span style=\"color: #d32ba1;\"> <em>Good innovators and creators<\/em><\/span>: Some people have a strong history of creating, and starting things on their own. \u00a0From selling freshly caught mackerel on the beach as children, through to doing 3 jobs whilst paying their way at University, to creating additional revenue streams alongside their &#8220;day job.&#8221; \u00a0The skills acquired are those of immense resourcefulness of successfully building something from nothing.<\/p>\n<p>2)<span style=\"color: #d32ba1;\"><em> Thought and planning<\/em><\/span>: Successful entrepreneurs have thought, or more likely dreamt, about running their businesses from a long time, and are not acting on a whim. \u00a0They are deliberate in their intention, and have fully thought through the possible serious downsides.<\/p>\n<p>3) <span style=\"color: #d32ba1;\"><em>Excitement<\/em><\/span>: They are excited. \u00a0Genuinely thrilled that they are working on something that they have created. \u00a0Getting them to talk about anything else is actually quite difficult!<\/p>\n<p>4) <span style=\"color: #d32ba1;\"><em>Resourceful:<\/em><\/span> The business owners also are fantastic at turning their hand at whatever is needed.
